Christmas Lights Switch On Night
The switch on celebrations for the 2018 Christmas lighting display has been arranged for Saturday 1st December. Central Queen Street will be closed off from 4pm on Saturday afternoon until 8pm.
As in previous years, we are inviting organisations who wish to run a stall to complete and return the details in the Stallholder Application Form (copies are also available from the Town Council office).
It saddens us to know that some towns have decided not to continue with their lighting and festive celebrations due to the ever increasing costs involved. Your committee at Withernsea however, endeavour to continue, despite the costs and budget cuts we are faced with.
The Withernsea Christmas Lights Committee aim to continue with their fundraising throughout the year, in order to raise the extra funds that are needed to keep the festive lighting display up and running each and every year..HOWEVER, …
…..WE DO NEED THE HELP & SUPPORT OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY….
and therefore are asking all local shops, businesses and residents in Withernsea to consider making a donation towards future displays, as every penny counts, and is fed directly into the fund so we can bring that magical and festive feel to our town each Christmas.
We cover all expenses involved with the town’s display and would like to continue doing so, unlike those that have unfortunately had to call it a day and opt out of the annual festivities.
So please, if you can contribute to this year’s display, donations can be made to: –
Withernsea Town Council, The Meridian Centre, 201 Queen Street, Withernsea.
