Global number one bestselling author Lesley Pearse will be in Beverley on Sunday, 21 October, at 7pm as part of the Festival of Words.
She will be taking part in Location, Location, Location at Beverley Art Gallery, a day to explore the allure of houses in literature, and will be talking about ‘The House Across the Street’, her gripping new 26th novel, released in her 25th anniversary year as a published author.
She has fans across the world and sales of over ten million copies of her books to date. One of the nation’s best-loved storytellers, Lesley is a master of the gripping storyline, always introducing her readers to characters that are impossible not to care about or forget. With a ‘Lesley Pearse’ book purchased every four minutes in the UK, there is no formula to her books or easily defined genre and, whether historical drama like her No.1 bestselling Belle trilogy or the emotionally powerful Trust Me based on the true-life scandal of British child migrants sent to Australia in the post-war period, she always engages the reader completely.
In her latest novel, twenty-three year old Katy Speed is fascinated by the house across the street. Gloria, the woman who lives there, is the most glamorous neighbour on the avenue, owning a fashionable dress shop in Bexhill-on-Sea that Katy loves to visit. But all is not as it appears……..
Kimberley Harston, librarian at Beverley Library, said : ” Don’t miss this special opportunity to get to know this fascinating author as she talks about her books and inspirations – it’ll give your reading a whole new light….”
