Remembrance Concert – St Matthew’s Church, Friday 9th November at 7pm
There is a Hundredth Anniversary Remembrance Concert to be held in St Matthews Church in Withernsea at seven o’clock on Friday, 9 November. The Remembrance Concert has been sponsored by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council and is an evening of song, music, poetry, drama and singalong. Among the performers are the Swansong folk group, the ‘With One Voice’ choir, Withernsea Entertainers, as well as poetry from Gina Hobbs and Lynn Evans. Refreshments will be provided at the interval, and, thanks to sponsorship, there is free entry and everyone is welcome to come and join us for a night of entertainment and remembrance.
At 10am On Sunday, 11 November at St Matthews Church in Withernsea there is the Civic Remembrance Service which will be followed by wreathlaying at both the old and the new war memorials with refreshments at the Meridian Centre afterwards. Again, everyone is welcome to join us for the hundredth anniversary of the ending of the First World War.
