The Award Winning Meridian Centre.
We are very proud to announce that the Meridian Centre has been awarded the 2016 East Riding of Yorkshire Council Chairman’s Award ‘Built Heritage’ in the Commercial Development and Major Schemes category.
Also nominated in the category were the RSPB visitor centre at Bempton and the Tom Pudding Way in Goole, both very impressive schemes.
The awards ceremony took place on Tuesday 10th May at the Bridlington Spa, where the Town Mayor Councillor Matthew Lloyd was presented with a glass plaque and certificate. The Mayor was accompanied by Mrs. Anne Blake representing the Meridian Centre CIO on behalf of the Chairman Mr. Gordon Hodgson, the Town Clerk Jayne Moxon and Mr. Tom Smith of SALT Architects.
Claire Frisby from the BBC, who was the presenter for the evening, gave a special thank you to Gordon Hodgson for his involvement in the scheme and wished him well.
The awards play an important role in recognising the contributions made by organisations and individuals across the East Riding who work with others to make a difference to their community as well as recognising business investment which contributes to boost the local economy.
Great things are happening across the East Riding.
