Whether you are looking to improve your skills, gain new qualifications or learn something completely new, there really is something for everyone with East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s new adult learning courses.
Fancy learning a brand new hobby or skill? Courses, available to people aged 19 and over, are now available to book online or in centre.
Starting in September, there are a number of courses on offer that can help improve IT, English and maths skills.
The most popular courses include counselling, mindfulness, teaching assistant qualifications and support in finding a job. The adult learning centres also provide a range of arts, crafts and creative courses.
Not sure adult learning is for you? The council’s adult learning centres will run free taster sessions from Monday, 3 to Saturday, 8 September. Providing people with the chance to experience what goes on in the classroom, with no pressure of further commitments.
Sessions on offer at the East Riding’s adult learning centres include:

Taste and test sessions are also available in:
• online buying and selling
• mobile phone photography.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Employment, Education and Skills Group Manager, Sara Arnold, said: “We hope to inspire as many local residents as possible to get involved and learn about the far reaching benefits of adult learning. It’s a great opportunity for us to showcase everything that the council’s adult learning centres have to offer and hopefully encourage people to enrol on the main courses starting in September.”
