There is a vacancy on Withernsea Town Council (South Ward) because of the resignation of Councillor Brian Cloke. Brian has been involved with the Town Council for 25 years and has been Deputy mayor three times. He has served for many years on various community groups including Withernsea in Bloom, SHORES, Big Local, Millennium Green and all of the Economic Development Schemes. He, along with a fellow councillor and the Clerk wrote the bid for Meridian Centre, and he was integral to many of the Council’s committees over the years. We wish him all the very best.

Horse Sculpture Unveiled
Having been putting up the Cascade on Pier Towers for a couple of years now, I had noticed more and more purple poppies being placed on there for service animals killed in wars and conflicts. I also noticed many painted pebbles being placed on the War Memorials, both the old one in Italian Gardens and the new one in Memorial Gardens. Having thought about this for a while I decided to apply for a grant from SSE Energy and have a special one off sculpture commissioned by a gent in Hull which can be used as a focus point for the poppies and pebbles. All this came to fruition on Friday 11th April when the sculpture was unveiled by Mayor, Cllr Ian Blackburn in front of a crowd of local residents. I would like to thank the following who have helped and assisted me in this venture. SSE Energy, Withernsea Town Council and MKM Withernsea. Darren England.
