How To Apply

You will find the basic information about how to become a Councillor and what it means to be part of your local town council through the document and links and on this page. Take the time to read this information and explore some of the links to other useful organisation.

If you have never attended a Town Council meeting, come along and see what happen and they type of matter your could be dealing with.

What better way to understand what it means to be a Councillor than to speak to our current Councillors about their experiences.

Practically anyone can be a Councillor.

You must be an elector over 18, and a UK citizen.

In addition you must have for the whole of the last 12 months resided in or within 3 miles of Withernsea or have occupied land or premises as an owner or tenant in the Parish or had their principle or only place of work in the Parish.

The Application Forms are available from the Town Council office, or can be downloaded – Co-option Application Form – 07-2020.

Return your completed application form to the Town Council office.

Deadline for applications 3pm Monday 10th August 2020

Applicants will be required to attend the Town Council meeting Monday 17th August 2020, 7pm at The Meridian, Queen Street, Withernsea.
